I learned a lot from these warm ups, learning how to make different designs and get a better understanding on how to be creative with my painting. The blending activity taught me how to blend colors and how to make colors lighter and darker. I loved that warm up because my painting project was blending the sky from dark to light. Some ways to make brown is to mix opposite colors and you can make red and green. To tone down a color, you put white in it or a lighter color to make it not as dark.
My piece is a sunset desert with the sun setting down at night. It is blended with dark blue and making the blue lighter as it goes down. In the painting there is a cactus behind the sun setting. To make this painting, I blended the sun setting numerous times to make it look realistic. Mine is proportional because I had to use my hands to measure where the cactus is to make it look like the picture I printed out. I was inspired by this because I love the way it looked and I really wanted to blend.
Interpret: My idea behind this piece was to make it simple and I wanted to make a pretty sunset to get the blending techniques in there. I found that I love to blend paint and make my own colors to make a pretty sunset. I learned that when you paint you have to be very precise and neat when you are painting. When you paint you have to be patient and that's something I am not very good at. I had to repaint the background numerous times, yet I still was not happy with the piece. Pros of Pencil Drawing:
I chose "Murals in shades of Grey by Paola Delfin Characterize Human Bonds "these artifacts are found in Cancun, St. Petersburg the message of these paintings are unity and community she says. The paintings are looking out in the distance and have plants and many black and white details. Her ideas bounce off of ideas of women's "strength and ability to build community." She wants to have a meaningful meaning of the artifacts. Before she paints the artifact, she learns the history and background of the neighborhoods. I love her paintings because they have a lot of detail. Not only do they look good, but they have a meaning behind the art which I think is an amazing idea.
